He also pointed out that TV became of prime importance during the lockdown. Mehra said, ‘What happened is that people were stuck in the house and they got to watch a lot of TV. It’s not about Amazon or Netflix or Hotstar. As far as the audience is concerned, they don’t care, they are watching TV and what they want to see. This has leveled the playing field. A lot of actors who weren’t recognized earlier, a lot of storytellers who didn’t get a chance have got stardom.”
Talking about the biggest breakout stars on OTT, Mehra said, “Look at Manoj Bajpayee’s resilience. He never believed in what he was himself and his art. Watch out. Shefali ShahWho did ‘Delhi Crime’. She is more recognized as a face in the world than any other female artist.”
