Taliban capture Delhi Police-led conference with intelligence, security agencies

According to sources, during the conference of various intelligence units and security agencies with Delhi Police at Delhi Police Headquarters on Friday, the issue of takeover of Taliban was discussed a lot. The Chief of Research and Analysis Wing (RAW), the Chief of Intelligence Bureau (IB) were among several other officials from top intelligence agencies present at the conference.

According to sources in the security agencies, there was discussion on how India needs to be very aware and alert about the Taliban takeover in Afghanistan and the current situation there. Top intelligence officials said that India needs to be very cautious of the Taliban and its current form and behavior as it can emerge as a threat to India with the new strategy.

In this highly sensitive conference, several state officials of police and intelligence departments also said that Pakistan and its intelligence agency Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) are working hard to strengthen their spy network in India.

He said that Pakistan is trying to get confidential information about India from the authorities through honey trapping.

Sources said the issue of Jammu and Kashmir and the challenges in the Union Territory were also a matter of discussion among the attendees. The officials brainstormed ways to deal with Pakistan’s strategies for spreading terrorism in India.

A conference was held between fourteen intelligence units and security agencies at the Special Cell Office of the Police Headquarters on Friday along with Delhi Police Commissioner Rakesh Asthana.

Intelligence agencies are getting constant alerts about terrorists crossing the border and planning to do something ‘big’ in the country.

All intelligence agencies have been put on high alert after learning about a meeting between Pakistan-based terror outfit Jaish-e-Mohammed and Taliban leaders in Kandahar during the third week of August.

For the first time, the Centrally Administered Delhi Police has called such a meeting.
