Manipur attack again proves Modi govt incapable of protecting country: Rahul Gandhi

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi targeted the Modi government fiercely on Saturday Terrorist attack on Assam Rifles convoy in Manipur, alleging the incident “proves once again” that it is incapable of protecting the nation.

He also expressed condolences to the families of those who lost their lives in the attack.

In a tweet, he said, “Terrorist attack on Army convoy in Manipur once again proves that Modi government is not capable of protecting the nation. My condolences to the martyrs and their families. The nation appreciates your sacrifice.” Will remember.” Hindi.

Colonel Biplab Tripathi, commanding officer of Khuga Battalion of Assam Rifles, his wife and son, besides four paramilitary personnel were killed in an ambush in Manipur on Saturday morning in a fresh burst of militant violence in the border state.

Other Congress leaders including Ashok Gehlot and Jairam Ramesh also condemned the attack and demanded action against the people behind it.

Rajasthan Chief Minister Gehlot said on Twitter, “Strongly condemn the cowardly attack on the Assam Rifles convoy at Churachandpur, Manipur, in which five brave jawans and two family members lost their lives. Salute to their martyrdom and to the bereaved families.” Express my deepest condolences to you.”

Former Union Minister Jairam Ramesh said, “This is completely shocking and deeply saddened. Hope those responsible will be brought to justice soon.”

Tripathi’s convoy was targeted at Sehkan village in Churachandpur district by suspected militants of the People’s Revolutionary Party of Kanglipak (PREPAK), a militant group in Manipur demanding a separate homeland.

The blasts were triggered by Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) by the Assam Rifles personnel before the terrorists were involved in the encounter.
