15 more cases of Zika virus reported in UP’s Kanpur; MATCH NOW 123 | Kanpur News – Times of India

Kanpur: After two days of silence, 15 new cases have been reported in the district. zika Cases of the virus were reported in Kanpur on Friday night and Saturday, taking the number of infected to 123. In all, 37 persons have been cured. In this way the total active cases have become 86. Three patients are in Lucknow and one in Kannauj.
Chief Medical Officer, Kanpur, Dr Nepal Singh said, “With 15 more new Zika virus cases, the total number in the city (Kanpur) now stands at 123. We have started intensive surveillance in Zika infected areas.”
“The first case of Zika was reported on 23 October when a Indian Air Force The officer was diagnosed with the infection in Chakeri’s Pardiwanpur area,” Singh said.
To prevent the spread of Zika virus in Kanpur, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath himself had visited the city on November 10 and reviewed the situation.
He had emphasized on fogging in the entire district. He also inspected the Integrated Control Room set up for Zika Kanpur Municipal Corporation,
