Mamta Banerjee’s chartered plane survived an accident while returning from Varanasi, the parliamentary constituency of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The matter pertains to last Friday, when Mamata was returning to Kolkata after campaigning with Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav.

Mamta gave a statement on this incident for the first time on Monday. Mamta has alleged a big conspiracy behind the incident. Mamta categorically denied that it was due to bad weather. Mamta claimed that such a dangerous situation had arisen due to another aircraft coming in front. He also said that had it been 10 seconds late, there could have been a major accident. Due to the intelligence of the pilot, the plane survived the crash.

Civil Aviation Department told ‘turbulence’
The Bengal government had sought a report from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) regarding the incident. Mamta said that another plane had come face to face on the same level in the sky as her plane was. Demonstrating efficiency, the pilot lowered the plane to 8,000 feet. Because of this, the accident was avoided. He was hurt because of that. He still has pain in his back.

Mamta Banerjee was returning from Varanasi airport on her chartered plane last Friday. During this, his plane was reportedly staggered after hitting an air pocket. However, the pilot managed to take control of the plane and a major accident was avoided.

Later, the plane made a safe landing at Kolkata Airport. During this, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee suffered a back injury. Trinamool Congress has demanded a high-level inquiry into the matter. The state government has also sought to know from the DGCA whether prior permission was taken for the route on which the aircraft was flying.

TMC demands probe
Mamta Banerjee had gone to Varanasi to campaign for the Samajwadi Party. Trinamool’s national spokesperson Sukhendu Shekhar Rai said that this is a serious matter. From aviation point of view, DGCA should do a high level investigation. Apart from this, from the point of view of the security of the Chief Minister with Z category security, the Center should also conduct a separate investigation.

This aircraft is ‘Dassault Falcon 2000’, which is a light aircraft weighing 10.3 tonnes. It had the capacity to carry a total of 19 people including two flight attendants.
