I have been physically and verbally obstructed by the members of the Saka Dal in the assembly: Dhankhari

Members of the ruling party physically and verbally interrupted him in the assembly on Monday. This was stated by Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar this evening while accepting the allegations of Shuvendu Adhikari. Jagdeep Dhankhar made this demand while attending a function at Shyama Prasad Bhawan in Bhabnipur on Monday evening. He also advised both the parties to look into the matter.

The same day the Governor said that the members of the ruling party have physically and mentally obstructed me in the assembly. According to parliamentary rules, marshal’s intervention is inevitable in this situation. I ask the secretary of the assembly to call the marshal. Marshall refused to intervene. This contempt of parliamentary rules is painful.

On this day, just before the Governor’s address at the beginning of the budget session in the Assembly, BJP MLAs started protesting. At least 60 MLAs took out a march on the streets carrying banners and placards to protest the terror attack. Their protest continues. Meanwhile, when the Governor was about to leave the assembly, the Chief Minister first stopped him. Later, women Trinamool MLAs stood around the governor’s chair. After the demonstration that lasted for about an hour, the governor left the assembly after reading the first and last lines of his speech.

After that Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee went to the Raj Bhavan and met the Governor. Mamata claimed that if the Governor had gone without reading the speech, there would have been an organizational crisis.
