The TMC on Sunday announced the names of its candidates for the West Bengal bypolls.
Shatrughan Sinha will be fielded by TMC from Asansol in the Lok Sabha bypolls, while singer Babul Supriyo will be in the fray from the Ballygunge assembly bypoll.

The Trinamool Congress on Sunday announced that actor-turned-politician Shatrughan Sinha will be fielded from Asansol in the Lok Sabha bypoll, while singer and former Union minister Babul Supriyo will be nominated for the Ballygunge assembly bypoll.
This was announced by TMC chief Mamata Banerjee.
TMC Chief Mamata Banerjee tweeted, “Happy to announce on behalf of All India Trinamool Congress that Shri Shatrughan Sinha, former Union Minister & Eminent Actor will be our candidate for Lok Sabha By-election from Asansol.”
“Shri Babul Supriyo, former Union Minister and renowned singer, will be our candidate in the assembly by-election from Ballygunge. Jai Hind, Jai Bangla, Jai Maa- Maati- Manush.
Sinha had quit Congress last year and joined TMC. While a minister in the BJP government, Supriyo had joined the Banerjee-led party after the assembly elections. Supriyo had resigned as the Asansol MP in October last year.
