Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan announced a reward of one crore rupees for the panchayats just one and a half hours before the model code of conduct for the panchayat elections was imposed. In this, the Gram Panchayat, which has been elected unopposed, besides being a Panchayat for women only, will get 5 lakh to 50 lakh rupees to do development work and top in infrastructure facilities.

Amount to be deposited with enrollment form

Last time out of 841 members of Zilla Panchayat, 5 members won unopposed. Whereas, elections were held for 836. Out of 6,774 posts of district members, 99 were elected unopposed.
