place : Ludhiana Court Complex. time : 12.23 pm. The atmosphere on the second and third floors of the court complex was as usual. The hearing was going on inside the court room. The relatives of the prisoners were standing outside in the hope of meeting them. Lawyers were coming and saluting each other. Suddenly there was a loud bang in one corner of the third floor and smoke was everywhere. For a moment nothing was visible. After a few minutes, the dust balloon dispersed, and two walls of the bathroom were seen to have collapsed. The bathroom floor was also broken and lying on the second floor. There was fire in one or two places.

There was chaos in the entire court premises as soon as the blast took place. People started running here and there after saving their lives. Lawyers sitting in their chambers also came out. The body of a man was lying under the rubble in the bathroom. Apart from two women, three-four men were bleeding from their bodies. A lawyer was taken to the hospital by his accomplices in a private car after suffering a head injury. Along the wall of the bathroom where the photostat machines were installed, there was now debris.
