Lok Sabha Election 2024 LIVE Updates: The National Commission for Women (NCW) has written to the Election Commission of India (ECI), calling for ‘strict action’ against Congress leaders Supriya Shrinate and HS Ahir for their ‘lewd and derogatory’ social media posts against actor Kangana Ranaut, who is the BJP candidate from the Mandi Lok Sabha seat in Himachal Pradesh. Shrinate triggered a row on Monday with an Instagram post where she used Ranaut’s image with an objectionable caption, The post has since been deleted. However, the BJP attacked Shrinate for her post, with Amit Malviya Malviya, who is in charge of the party’s national information and technology department, saying Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge should take stern action against Shrinate.
Shrinate clarified that many people have access to her Facebook and Instagram accounts and someone from them made an extremely inappropriate post today.” As soon as I came to know, I deleted that post.
