Lata Mangeshkar, who has been admitted to Mumbai’s Breach Candy Hospital for the past one week, is suffering from Kovid-19 as well as pneumonia. As per the latest update, the veteran singer’s health is deteriorating. While the team of doctors is taking care of Lata ji, her health has again deteriorated. According to the doctor treating her, “Lata ji is still in the ICU, she needs care, so she has been kept under the supervision of the doctor in the ICU.” He is suffering from corona as well as pneumonia, so he will have to stay in the hospital. A few days and under a doctor’s supervision, it is difficult to say how long it will last.”

As he is undergoing treatment, the doctor also said that people need to pray for his recovery. During this time no one is allowed to meet him.

Earlier, Mangeshkar’s niece Rachna Shah had said that the singer was admitted to the ICU as she required “constant care” due to her age.

Regarded as one of the greatest singers of Indian cinema, Mangeshkar began his career in 1942 at the age of 13 and has over 30,000 songs to his name in several Indian languages.

In her over seven-decade career, she has sung various memorable tracks such as “Ajeeb dastan hai ye”, “Pyar kiya to darna kya”, “Neela asman so gaya”, and “Tere liye”, among others.

Known as the Nightingale of India, the singer has been bestowed with several awards and accolades including the Padma Bhushan, Padma Vibhushan and Dadasaheb Phalke Awards and several National Film Awards.

She is also the recipient of Bharat Ratna, India’s highest civilian award.
