Kerala school reopening news: Guidelines ready to reopen schools from November 1 Thiruvananthapuram News – Times of India

Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala Health Minister Veena George and Public Education Minister V Shivankutty handed over the guidelines to the Chief Minister on Tuesday. Pinarayi Vijayan Regarding reopening of schools in Kerala from 1st November COVID-19.
The freshly issued guidelines state that schools will be reopened in hybrid mode. For the children who are not able to reach the school directly, the existing online classes will continue.
It has been said in the guideline that in the first phase, children of each class will be divided into batches to limit the number of children in classes. However, the guidelines state that such batch adjustment is not mandatory in schools with fewer students.
As per the guidelines specially abled children should not come to the schools in the first phase.
The guidelines state that all teaching and non-teaching staff should be vaccinated against COVID-19 in two doses.
School level helpline should be set up as per the guidelines. Detailed guidelines on academic activities will be issued later. In this regard, school level staff council meetings, PTA meetings and various meetings at various levels including the meeting to be chaired by district collectors.
All teachers are required to be present at the school on weekdays.
Schools should maintain a medical check-up register and prepare sick rooms for children with symptoms.
Meanwhile, Kerala on Tuesday reported 9,735 new Covid-19 cases taking the total active caseload in the state to 1,24,441.
According to the state health minister’s office, 151 people died due to Covid-19 in the last 24 hours, taking the total death toll in the state to 25,677.
In the last 24 hours, 13,878 people were cured of the virus and 93,202 samples were tested for the virus.
So far 3,60,57,645 doses of Kovid-19 vaccine have been given in the state.
Meanwhile, India recorded a total of 18,346 new Covid-19 cases with 263 deaths in the last 24 hours.
