Kejriwal announces Rs 1,000 for all women voters, mocks Channi for ‘mimicking promises’ if you win in Punjab

In a big poll promise for Punjab, AAP convener Arvind Kejriwal on Monday said women voters in the state would get Rs 1,000 per month if the party comes to power in the state. Launching AAP’s ‘Mission Punjab’, Kejriwal also called Punjab counterpart Charanjit Singh Channi a “fake Kejriwal”, accusing him of fulfilling AAP’s poll promises ahead of the 2022 assembly elections.

Referring to Channi’s announcement of free electricity up to 400 units, Kejriwal said, “Whatever I promise, he makes the same promises after two days.”

Addressing a hall full of women voters in Moga, the AAP convener called them “not taken by the fake Kejriwal”, and referred to himself as the only man in India Can give “zero” electricity bill. “Free electricity has been announced but not implemented, promises are being made for corruption and action against corrupt officials, but no concrete action is being seen,” he said.

“If we form the government in Punjab in 2022, we will give Rs 1,000 per month to every woman above 18 years of age,” Kejriwal said. This initiative will also be applicable to those covered under any ongoing pension scheme.

AAP’s Punjab unit has made special arrangements for women across Punjab to watch key election promises with the intention of garnering support from women voters. Describing the upcoming assembly elections in Punjab as “important”, Kejriwal appealed to women to persuade male members of their families to vote for AAP as well.

Kejriwal’s attempt to woo women voters comes a close after Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s November 19 announcement to repeal three agriculture laws, a victory for farmers who have been agitating for more than a year. It reflects.

In his speech, the Delhi CM also lauded the courage of farmers, especially women, for providing leadership to the movement, but did not pay much attention to it. The chief minister kept his pitch simple and straightforward without addressing issues of caste or religion.

AAP believes that this major election promise will impact the lives of over one crore women in Punjab and has the potential to be a game changer. Poised for victory in the 2017 Punjab Assembly election, the AAP eventually became a damp squib. The party suffered a humiliating defeat at the hands of the Congress led by Captain Amarinder Singh.

Kejriwal is on a two-day visit to Punjab and is yet to announce his chief ministerial candidate. AAP has already declared the first list of candidates, which includes all the 11 sitting MLAs.
