: During sslc exam In July 2020, 4,317 teachers made mistakes in evaluation, as a result of which students demanded re-evaluation. In all the cases, the minimum of six marks varied after re-evaluation and in some cases up to 20 marks.
The matter came up for discussion in the Legislative Council on Monday, where Primary and Secondary Education Minister B.C. nagesho Said that the teachers found guilty of irregular evaluation had to pay a fine of Rs 51.5 lakh. But the government has so far deposited only Rs 10 lakh. raise question, CN Ravi Kumar Said that one month’s salary should be deducted from such teachers who put the students in trouble during the pandemic. “They should be blacklisted and not considered for SSLC evaluation,” he said.
Nagesh said the errors were caused by the negligence of some teachers and added that the department would think about what could be done. The SSLC exam of 2019-20 was delayed due to the pandemic. In all, 19,826 applications were received for revaluation and in 15,591 applications the difference of marks after revaluation was less than six. However, in 4,235 cases, the difference was more than six, and all teachers responsible for this had to pay a fine.
When the difference of marks was more than six, then the government paid the revaluation amount of Rs 805 per paper to the applicants.
Nagesh said that schools were closed during the pandemic in 2020, fine collection was less, but school authorities have been directed to collect fines from teachers and give it to the department. “Deputy directors of districts have been directed to collect fine from teachers,” he said.
