New Delhi: Karnataka became the first state in the country to implement National Education Policy 2020 with the Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan And CM Basavaraj Bommai Under the new policy, the module for admission in universities and colleges is being launched virtually on Monday.
Pradhan said that the state has set a perfect example for other states in the implementation of NEP-2020 and has become a laboratory in the implementation of the policy. To mark the occasion, Bommai announced that a new digitization and research and development policy focusing on students will be launched and a Council of Primary and Secondary Education aimed at transforming and empowering the knowledge landscape of Karnataka. will be established.
He said that these programs would be given due priority in the coming budget amid constraints, he advised to introduce career guidance and personality development in the secondary education level. “If implemented successfully, this policy will free the education system from vertical silos, compartmentalization and closed jacket structure of teaching-learning process,” he said. He also announced that tablet PCs will be provided this year for those appearing for the first year degree courses.
Higher Education Minister CN Ashwatha Narayan said,NEP will break down barriers and bring together science-arts-humanities, curricular-extra-curricular, theoretical knowledge-skill development etc.”
