How did you hide such a big news for so long?
Himanshu and I were absolutely excited about the baby’s arrival, and as nervous but over-excited parents we were very cautious and superstitious- after all, it was COVID times. It was such a scary period for everyone. So apart from our family and close friends, we didn’t share the news of our little miracle baby. Finally and thankfully, the world is now opening up and we were beaming with joy to share our bundle of joy with the world. So there you are, we have announced.
Was Himanshu in the labor room?
Yes.
who decided the name Daring?
Himanshu! He always wanted to name his child Veer if he had a son. The moment he suggested it, I fell in love with the name; In fact, I too have always loved the name ‘Veer’. So, our child is called Veer Dhillon Sharma.
Was there a lot of pre-shopping done?
Absolutely. We were obsessively ordering stuff online on our phones, in fact it is mostly Himanshu who orders and I picked the final shortlist!
But let me tell you one very interesting thing.
Sure…
I had to threaten Himanshu to stop giving orders as if after a point; We were running out of space and he was ordering the same thing twice! Before the birth of our Veer my over excited husband also ordered a bike and I had to cancel it!
Then again, it was a fun crazy memorable time preparing for Veer to become a parent!
You mean he ordered a bicycle?
No, a bike. They ordered a children’s petrol bike for a 5 year old!
How do you feel now that you are a mother?
I think being a mother is something that I cannot describe in words. Just watching my baby sleep or smile makes my heartbreak. I think all new moms will understand this when I say that your baby is your little heart that you hold in your hands. My son Veer gives me the strength and courage I didn’t know I had – he makes me a stronger woman and he makes me believe in miracles!
Are you taking a break from writing?
No, don’t take a break from writing at all! In fact, I was almost working during my pregnancy. The recently released ‘Rashmi Rocket’ is the hard work of my love. After this the shooting of ‘Raksha Bandhan’ ended. I am in the process of finishing two more scripts, which will be announced soon. So, I love my job and don’t have to let my child choose me with a lesser workload – that really motivates me to work harder and I hope I’m proud of me.
How much has marriage changed your life?
Himanshu and I were friends for a while before we started dating and got married. That’s why we love hanging out with each other. Now to make it amazing- it’s 3 of us! And it’s a blast! Life has become more of everything- more love, more laughter and more drama! Veer has Himanshu wrapped around his little finger and I love seeing him in bondage.
One thing about Himanshu that you would like to change and one thing you would not like to change?
Marrying Himanshu is like being on a stand-up comedy show; He’s the funniest. Talking about his funny bone and his bond, one thing that I will obviously never change, I am amazed when I see him with Veer. They seem to have a very special mysterious bond and I envy it. Veer knows that Himanshu is at home even when he is in the lift. It’s so filmy that I can’t get over it.
One thing that I would like to change in Himanshu is, nothing really – he is completely imperfect.
