‘It Hurt Me’ – Haris Rauf Reacts on Virat Kohli’s Straight Six Against Pakistan in T20 World Cup

Pakistan fast bowler Haris Rauf recalled Virat Kohli’s straight six over the bowler’s head off a length delivery during the India vs Pakistan match in the T20 World Cup and said ‘it hurt him’

India and Pakistan matches have always been high voltage but in T20 both the teams compete World Cup 2022 was prestigious. India Pakistan were defeated but more importantly the Men in Blue won.

Virat Kohli’s unbeaten 82 off 53 balls was so magical that it surprised even Pakistan bowler Haris Rauf.

Rauf still remembers the six over the bowler’s head on Kohli’s length delivery. Kohli had made some room for himself as he raced across the crease to loft the ball away for a huge six in the 19th over of the game, leaving both Rauf and Pakistan captain Babar Azam in shock. Rauf recently shared his thoughts on that shot in a popular Pakistani show ‘Hasna Mana Hai’.

A fan asked Rauf about his immediate reaction to Kohli’s shot in the T20 World Cup, to which Rauf replied that it “hurt” him.

“Definitely, it hurt when he went for sixes. I didn’t say anything but it hurt me personally. I felt something went wrong,” Haris said.

The Pakistan pacer praised Kohli but added that the latter shot is very rare and he does not think Kohli will play it again.

“Anyone who knows cricket knows the kind of player he is. He has played that shot now; I don’t think he can do it again. Such shots are quite rare, you can’t hit them over and over again. His timing was perfect and it went for a six,” said the speedster.

In the same show, Rauf was seen playing a game in which he was blindfolded and asked to identify a player. The host showed Kohli’s image on the screen while Rauf’s eyes were closed and then hinted that the on-screen man is someone who is beyond man. He further added that he is the one who gives a tough fight (“The ashes are given to the ashes”, As soon as Rauf heard this, he took the name of ‘Kohli’.

India and Pakistan last met in the T20 World Cup in which Pakistan reached the final of the tournament where they lost to England. Meanwhile, India suffered a 10-wicket defeat to Jos Buttler’s side in the semi-finals.
