Kiara Advani recalled shooting for Jaragandi from her upcoming pan-India film Game Changer.

The first single, ‘Jaragandi,’ composed by SS Thaman, was unveiled by the makers of Game Changer on Ram Charan’s birthday. Kiara Advani, the film’s leading lady, is currently at the 77th Cannes Film Festival, where she shared some exciting details about Shankar’s directorial.

Speaking with Anupama Chopra of Film Companion, Kiara shared, “For me, it was actually very fun to do a massy song (Jaragandi). I have never done something like this in my life. I received the most phone calls after the release of the Jaragandi song because, till now, no one has seen me going all out with the hero. Even Shankar sir told me I was very expressive in this masala song. What’s interesting is this is the first song that we dropped, and each song in the film is completely different from one another.”

The actress continued, “All the songs have different vibes. Shankar sir is known for his songs and he likes them to be in a certain way. I have never worked 10 days to complete a song. Jaragandi is the hardest song I have shot. Prabhudeva sir is the choreographer, and we had a lot of rehearsals. There are a lot of back-breaking steps in Jaragandi song. Prabhudeva sir made Charan, and me do all the same steps. I have to match him.”

“I thoroughly enjoyed the whole process. It was an experience. I wanted to work with Shankar sir. He is a very passionate filmmaker whose vision is big. He is trying to do something within the realm, but at the same time, he is making sure there is uniqueness. Shankar sir is trying to push the envelope. He wants his new film to be better than his previous works. I like the attitude that he comes with,” Kiara concluded.

While the song became an instant hit, producer Dil Raju hinted that Game Changer will release this year and could be in less than six months. At an event for Game Changer in Hyderabad, Dil Raju hinted at the release date.

The producer said that the film will be in cinemas in five months, seemingly hinting at a September release date. He added that the filming will wrap in May. Besides teasing the release date, Raju also revealed that Jaragandi is just one of the many songs that the team has in store for the film. He said that the film will have five songs, three of which will be chart toppers.

Game Changer also stars Ram Charan and Kiara Advani in the lead. The film also stars other artists like Anjali, SJ Suryah, Jayaram, Sunil, Srikanth, Samuthirakani and Nassar. Ram Charan will essay the role of an IAS Officer, Ram Madan, while Kiara Advani will be his love interest and another fellow IAS officer. The movie is directed by Shankar and marks his debut directorial. The screenplay is written by Karthik Subbaraj. The music department is being handled by Thaman.

The OTT deal of Game Changer has reportedly been finalised. Amazon Prime Video has bought the streaming rights of the film for all languages. Produced by Dil Raju under the banner of Sri Venkateswara Creations, the film was expected to release this year, but now has been postponed given the tight schedule of the director Shankar.
