Former Pakistan spinner Danish Kaneria gave his verdict on the Indian Premier League vs Pakistan Super League debate as he chose India’s T20 tournament over a more professional event. The two franchise leagues are ranked among the best cricket T20 tournaments in the world, while the IPL paved the way for franchise leagues with its introduction in 2008, while the PSL was introduced in 2016. IPL has been considered as the top T20 franchise with more money involved. Many big players take part in cash-rich leagues in the form of tournaments in the world. The availability of Indian players in IPL also gives it a big boost.
Kaneria, who is very vocal about his views and opinions, said that IPL has provided many talents to Indian cricket while PSL has done hardly anything for Pakistan due to its unprofessional approach.

“Being a very professional event, IPL is providing a lot of talent to Indian cricket. And it is getting better and better with every passing season, whereas PSL is hardly doing anything for Pakistan cricket. If a player performs well in the PSL, the unprofessional attitude of the Pakistan Cricket Board reduces his chances of getting into the national team.”
Talking about his favorites from the upcoming season of IPL, Kaneria picked Ravindra Jadeja’s CSK and Rohit Sharma’s Mumbai Indians.

Look, there are no favorites in the T20 format. But if we talk about the combination then Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians are good. There are two new teams in this edition and you cannot take them lightly.”
The veteran spinner further explained how the South African players taking leave to play in the IPL makes it an impressive tournament.
“IPL is a tournament in which all cricketers want to play. You see, many South African players took leave from their national team to play in the IPL. So it is becoming a big event every year.”
