India’s SCO, G20 presidencies to strengthen world stability and security, says Russian Prez Vladimir Putin

Moscow: Russian President Vladimir Putin on Friday expressed confidence that India’s presidency of the SCO and the G20 will build multi-faceted cooperation between the two countries and strengthen stability and security in Asia and the world. While India formally assumed the chairmanship of the G20 on 1 December, it took over the rotating chairmanship of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) on 16 September. In his New Year messages to President Draupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Putin said Russia and India will celebrate the 75th anniversary of their diplomatic ties in 2022 and rely on positive traditions of friendship and mutual respect, the Kremlin said in a statement. As a result, the countries continued to develop their Special Privileged Strategic Partnership.

Putin said the two countries carried out large-scale trade and economic projects in energy, military technology and other areas of cooperation, and made coordinated efforts to address important matters of the regional and global agenda.
