India is set to host the Yogasan World Championships for the first time in June next year. National Yogasana Sports Federation (recognized by the Ministry of Sports) is working towards building a strong culture of fitness, competitiveness, wellness and growth through the practice and development of Yogasanas.
Addressing the inaugural ceremony of India’s first physical National Yogasana Sports Championship in Bhubaneswar, NYSF President Udit Sheth said, “India is going to host the first World Yogasana Championship showcasing India’s heritage sport to the world in June 2022. Is.”
Yogasan sport for both men and women categories has been included in Khelo India Youth Games, 2021. Government of India accreditation qualifies NYSF for financial assistance to conduct national championships in all categories.
“We are grateful to the Government of Odisha for their overwhelming support in hosting the Yogasana Championships. The championship structure is uniquely curated for Yoga as a sport.
Sheth said, “We are satisfied with the huge participation from across the country. It is truly an experience to be in the presence of such talented athletes, coaches and experts. We look forward to taking the Yogasana sport to the global stage.”
