India lost the second ODI against England by 100 runs, restoring parity in the three-match ODI series. India Bowled well to bundle out England for 246 runs but could not chase down the target as Rohit Sharma lost the wickets of his top batsmen including Shikhar Dhawan. Virat Kohli and Rishabh Pant. Meanwhile, Pant’s dismissal was really funny as he took a simple catch at mid-on at full toss. It was typical Pant, because he had made a fool of himself.
“You get out strangely, you get out at full toss. How are you going to explain it? As far as Rishabh Pant is concerned, he will come. The thing with him is that he has always been like this before. Have batted,” former India pacer Zaheer Khan said on Cricbuzz YouTube channel.

Also, former England captain Michael Vaughan said that Pant is thinking more and he needs to bat as usual – with freedom. Pant was dismissed for a five-ball duck, which certainly affected India’s chase.
“I would say to Rishabh Pant, don’t be over-aggressive. He’s got license to be aggressive in white-ball cricket, but in red-ball cricket it just looks like a careless approach,” Vaughan said on the show.
“And in white-ball cricket, it looks like he’s almost getting over it. He is one player in that position who can lead India to victory in a match in the span of 15 overs of batting. He’s such a good player, you just want him to get that freedom. Don’t worry that the shot he is playing is getting out too. According to me, his job in this Indian team is to create chaos.”
Vaughan said that Pant should create chaos with the bat in his hands.

“He has a bat in his hand, go and spread chaos. If you give Rishabh Pant the bat in his hand and give him the freedom to play, I bet he will come very successfully in at least three of those matches. And that on his own would completely change the game. He needs to be more aggressive, that’s the way for Rishabh Pant.
