I don’t get angry till…’: Amit Shah’s witty reply causes split in Parliament

Speaking in the Lok Sabha on Monday, Union Home Minister Amit Shah said his loud voice is a “manufacturing defect” and does not reflect anger. He said that he does not get angry till the questions related to Kashmir come up.

His witty response caused laughter and thumping of tables in Parliament.

“I never scolded anyone. My voice is a little high (my voice is a little high). This is my manufacturing defect. I don’t get angry. I speak loudly, which may sound rude to people. But I don’t get angry unless there is a question related to Kashmir,” he said while moving the Criminal Procedure (Identity) Bill 2022 for passage in the House.

With this bill, the BJP leader said, the government hopes to make crime investigation more efficient and as a result, the conviction rate will increase.

The Union Home Minister had last week urged people to watch the recently released film ‘The Kashmir Files’ to understand how there was terror in the Kashmir Valley ‘during Congress rule’.

Speaking at an event organized by Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation in Gujarat, he had said, “Those who haven’t seen it should watch the film to know how atrocities and terror gripped Kashmir during Congress rule.”

“When you made Narendra Bhai (Narendra Modi) the Prime Minister for the second time, he removed Article 370 on August 5, 2019. The moment Narendra Bhai decided to do so, people across the country realized that if there is a strong willed leader like Narendra. Brothers lead the country, nothing is impossible.”
