The Union Health Ministry on Friday told “highly misinformation” and “misleading” media reports that approval has been given for Covaxin vaccine in the 15-18 age group despite WHO not giving an emergency use list (EUL). Its use in this age group. There is nowhere mentioned about EUL by WHO in the guidelines issued by the Union Health Ministry.

A statement said that such reports are highly false, misleading and far from the truth. The guidelines issued by the ministry on December 27, 2021, under the heading new beneficiaries aged 15-18 years, stated that “for such beneficiaries, the option of vaccination will be available only for Covaxin as it is the EUL for age is the only vaccine with – Group 15-18”, it said in a statement.
