Gujarati trained BSF with combat skills. Surat News – Times of India

Surat: Only a few people of Gujarat are part of the armed forces. But it is a matter of great pride when a Gujarati citizen can leave his mark on the strength of the army.
Meet Wispy Kharadi, who has seven Guinness World Records, and a martial arts trainer from Diamond City, who is training the Border Security Force, India’s first line of defense on the world’s deadliest fighting technique – Krav Maga. This format of combat skills was developed for Israel Defense Force.
Kharadi has so far conducted two training sessions at BSF training institutes at Tekanpur in Madhya Pradesh and Hazaribagh in Jharkhand. And, all selfless service! ‘Sensei’ refused to charge for the training.
First Director General of BSF, KF RustomjeeKharadi was a Parsi. Rustomjee has been awarded the Padma Bhushan for his exemplary services and is claimed to be the only police officer in the country to have been awarded the second highest civilian award ever.
“There is nothing more to be proud of than to train the same force which had a Parsi as its DG,” Kharadi said. “Currently only national security guard soldiers get Krav Maga training and that too directly from Israel,” he said.
“I am trying to train the soldiers to Krav-maga and Kudo because they require this kind of fighting skills at the border,” Kharadi said. The first phase of training for BSF commando units and jawans has already been completed. But his training will continue for several phases.
Kharadi does not teach civilians the krav-maga skill as it is the deadliest form of combat skill. “As part of my women’s self-defense training sessions, however, I do use some of this strategy,” he said.
Describing the Krav-maga, Kharadi said that the specialty of this form is that it trains the person for armed and unarmed warfare. “I am also training for different levels of this form and my trainer is trained in Israel from experts,” he said, refusing to divide the different areas of training for the sake of professional secrecy.
The jawans are given stress inoculation training as well as training to manage panic better. Kharadi, who has also acted in a few Bollywood films, said, “Some of our jawans are also posted in disturbed civilian areas, so we train them to defend themselves against mob attacks.”
