Manipur Horrors: Defense Minister Rajnath Singh said on Thursday that the central government is ready to discuss the May 4 incident in Manipur in the Lok Sabha. The Union Minister also said that the opposition is not serious about holding a discussion on the Manipur violence.

‘We want discussion in Parliament’

Amid uproar in the Lok Sabha over the Manipur situation, Singh said, “The incident in Manipur is certainly very serious and understanding the situation, the PM himself has said that what happened in Manipur has brought shame to the entire country.” Have said that strict action will be taken on this incident. We want a discussion on Manipur in Parliament.”

‘Opposition not serious on Manipur’

“I said this in the all-party meeting and I repeat it in Parliament that we want a discussion on Manipur in the House. But I see that there are some political parties who unnecessarily want to create such a situation here that Manipur cannot be discussed at all. I am clearly alleging that this opposition is not as serious about Manipur as they should have been,” he said.
