Frustrated with Telugu state governments for not organizing Chiranjeevi Nandi Awards

Megastar Chiranjeevi has expressed his disappointment over the failure of the governments of the two Telugu states in organizing the Nandi Awards. This ceremony was held till the formation of separate states of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.

Chiranjeevi’s latest comments from the stage of Santosham Awards have become viral on social media. He said that neither the Andhra government nor the Telangana government has officially organized any award ceremony so far.

Telangana government minister Thalassani Srinivas Yadav and megastar Chiranjeevi attended the event as chief guests. Chiranjeevi said that when Andhra Pradesh and Telangana did not separate, the Nandi Awards were given to filmmakers, but were discontinued after the two states separated.

Actors Chiranjeevi, Nagarjuna and some other film personalities also urged the governments of both the states to organize the award functions together and encourage the artistes.

Chiranjeevi said, “It is very good that Santhosham award ceremony is being organized for almost two decades now. Such award ceremonies should be done by the government but the Andhra Pradesh government and Telangana government are not aware of that particular award ceremony. Forgot what happened every year.

He further added, “The Nandi Awards were last announced in 2016. After that, neither the Andhra Pradesh government nor the Telangana government has officially organized any award function.”

Chiranjeevi is working in many films these days. The actor is currently busy with his upcoming venture Acharya, directed by Koratala Siva. The film is all set to hit the big screen soon. Apart from this, the actor is also making a remake of Malayalam film Godfather. Another project, Bhola Shankar, directed by Meher Ramesh, will also release in the next few months.
