This isn’t the first time Diedone has been penalized for such comments. He has received multiple sentences for inciting hatred against Jews and fined tens of thousands of euros for racial slander, defamation and hate speech.
In 2015, the European Court of Human Rights ruled against Diedone, holding that negative speech cannot be construed as freedom of speech.
