According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the national capital recorded a minimum temperature of 6.5 degrees Celsius, a notch below the season’s average. The IMD said the visibility at Palam was 100 meters at 8.30 am.

“The city will see mainly clear skies, which will be partly cloudy in the evening or night. Moderate to dense fog is likely on Wednesday morning,” the Met department said. The maximum temperature of the day will be around 19 degree Celsius.

The relative humidity stood at 100 per cent at 8.30 am. Data from the Central Pollution Control Board showed that Delhi’s air quality was in the ‘poor’ category and the air quality index (AQI) was recorded at 228 at 8 am.

Neighboring cities such as Noida (196), Greater Noida (194), Ghaziabad (185) and Gurgaon (193) had air quality in the ‘moderate’ category.

It was ‘poor’ in Faridabad (209). An AQI between zero and 50 is ‘good’, 51 and 100 ‘satisfactory’, 101 and 200 ‘moderate’, 201 and 300 ‘poor’, 301 and 400 ‘very poor’ and 401 and 500 ‘very poor’ considered ‘serious’.
