Ginni Chatrath was born in an affluent Sikh family on 18 November 1989 in Jalandhar, Punjab. Ginni’s father is a businessman by profession while her mother is a housewife. The 33-year-old also has a younger sister named Harleen Chatrath. Ginni completed her schooling from MGN Public School in Jalandhar. After graduating from Guru Nanak Dev University College, he did his MBA in Finance from DAV Institute of Engineering and Technology.
As a child, Ginni was very conscious about her weight. In order to maintain a fit and healthy lifestyle, he actively followed a strict workout regimen. The lovely wife of the comedian participated in several stand-up comedies during her college days.
In 2009, he participated in the comedy show Hans Baliye where Kapil was also a contestant. The show catapulted Ginni to stardom and she started getting offers for many Punjabi films and serials. However, Ginni wanted to lead a simple life away from the limelight, and hence did not accept the offers.

According to Zoom Entertainment, Ginni’s parents were initially hesitant about the marriage as Kapil’s financial condition was very bad at that time. Although later they agreed. Soon the couple exchanged vows in 2018. While their daughter Anayra is due next year, Trishann is due in 2021.
