Dholpur Student Takes To Gun In Classroom Spat | Jaipur News – Times of India

JAIPUR: A minor spat over where to sit in the classroom between two students took an ugly turn on Tuesday morning after a 15-year-old boy pointed a country made pistol at his classmate at a government school in Badirka village under Kolari police station area of Dholpur,
The physical training instructor (PTI) intervened quickly to snatch the pistol away from the hands of the student and informed the police. The family members of the accused student also thrashed another student outside the school. Police have seized the pistol, registered a case and initiated an investigation into the matter.
According to police, the incident took place at 10.30am when the accused student had an angry spat with his classmate. “Both confronted each other over their seating arrangement in the class. Suddenly, the accused pointed a country made pistol at the other student…”
“…However, the PTI of the school intervened on time. He snatched the pistol away and informed the police,” said a senior police officer with Kolari police station.
Initially, when the confrontation started, the family members of the accused came to the school and thrashed another student. “Ugly scenes were reported after other students also intervened in the confrontation. Our team reached on time and took everyone to the police station,” the officer said.
Many villagers also arrived at the spot and shouted slogans against the school administration and police for mismanagement. “We are investigating to find out from where the pistol was brought to the school. An FIR has been lodged by the family of the student at whom the gun was pointed,” the officer said.
