Delhi rain: Heavy rain lashed parts of Delhi-NCR. Noida News – Times of India

New Delhi: A day after the national capital received the highest rainfall in September in the last 19 years, heavy rains lashed many parts of the city and the National Capital Region (NCR) on Thursday.
Light to moderate rain will continue at isolated places and adjoining areas of Delhi-NCR (Noida, Gurugram, Faridabad, Manesar), Hisar, Ganaur (Haryana), Daurala, Meerut, Kithor, Garhmukteshwar (UP) during next 2 hours. IMD tweeted at 7.25 am on Thursday.

In a series of tweets, the IMD on Thursday suggested that action may be taken and the expected impact of the rains.

“Effects expected due to rain in parts of Delhi and adjoining areas: slippery roads and disruption of traffic, waterlogging in low-lying areas, occasional loss of visibility, partial damage to plantations, horticulture and standing crops, weakened structures Partial damage,” IMD tweeted at 6.27 am on Thursday.

Major arteries, colonies, houses and shops were flooded due to rain in the national capital on Wednesday, disrupting normal life. Major traffic jams were reported across the city and commuters were left stranded for hours.

Delhi’s base station Safdarjung had received 112.1 mm of rain till 8.30 am on Wednesday. Earlier in September, the highest rainfall in 24 hours was recorded on 13 September 2002 at 126.8 mm.
