Delhi hosts G20-themed food festival: Venue, Date & Timings, Entry Charges & all you need to know

People of Delhi! In the two-day G20 International Food Festival starting at Talkatora Stadium from Saturday, you will get a chance to enjoy the delicious cuisine of the country and the world under one roof. The theme of the festival, being organized by the New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC), is ‘Taste the World’. Union Housing and Urban Affairs Minister Hardeep Singh Puri will inaugurate the festival at 11:30 am on Saturday. Thousands of people are expected to attend the food festival. Adequate security arrangements have been made. 43 stalls will be set up in the festival.

Four G20 countries – China, Turkey, Japan and Mexico – are participating in the festival. People will also be able to try cuisines from 14 Indian states and union territories – Gujarat, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Delhi, Bihar, Punjab, Kashmir, Uttar Pradesh, Kerala, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Rajasthan, Manipur and Meghalaya.

More than 11 hotels including Taj Palace, Taj Mahal, The Connaught, Taj Ambassador, Le Meridien, ITC Maurya and The Park will also be there with their signature food items.

The Ministry of Agriculture will also set up eight stalls in the food festival on the theme of ‘International Year of Millets’. Delhi Prisons Department is participating in the festival along with Tihar Baking School.

NDMC is providing necessary space/stalls and other on-site logistic support to all the participants. NDMC is also providing onsite electricity/water connections and dustbins as per requirement. NDMC said the food festival, under India’s presidency at the G20 summit, will create awareness about international cuisine and provide education and guidance on nutritional health and food preparation.
