Delhi BJP to protest at Rajghat on December 17 against Kejriwal government’s liquor policy; Congress joins the chorus

Delhi BJP plans to intensify protest against the new excise policy recently introduced in the national capital. The picketing will continue outside the newly opened liquor shops in residential areas.

Delhi BJP President Adesh Gupta said that on December 17, Delhi BJP leaders along with religious leaders will protest at Rajghat and offer ‘goodwill prayers’ for CM Arvind Kejriwal and his government.

BJP leaders will also start a signature campaign from December 21, which will continue till December 31. The party plans to get 1.5 million signatures and then submit a memorandum to the President of India.

Gupta said, “Despite all this, if the Kejriwal government does not withdraw its decision on the new excise policy, then Delhi BJP will do ‘chakka jam’ in the national capital on January 3.

New Excise Policy has been recently introduced in Delhi. As many as 850 new liquor shops are about to open at various places, including adjoining residential areas, for which opposition parties in Delhi are protesting.

Under the leadership of Anil Chaudhary (President), Delhi Congress met Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri regarding this and other issues.

“The issue raised by the delegation was regarding the opening of illegal liquor shops by the Kejriwal government in non-confirmed areas especially near residential, religious and educational institutions. Ch. Anil Kumar categorically stated that the draft Master Plan for Master Plan 2021 and 2041 clearly prohibits opening of liquor shops in residential areas. However, the Kejriwal government has violated all the rules by allowing liquor shops to open illegally.

Not only this, the new excise policy violates all the existing rules and regulations regarding allotment of liquor shops, increasing the time for selling liquor in restaurants, reducing dry days, reducing the alcohol consumption age from 25 to 21 years. Is given. added.
