The body of a martyr soldier of Ghaziabad was found buried in snow in Uttarakhand just 16 years after his death. A group of mountaineering soldiers was returning after unfurling the tricolor on Satopanth, the highest peak of the Gangotri Himalayas, in 2005. The accident happened due to loss of balance on the way. Due to this, 4 soldiers had fallen into the ditch hundreds of feet below. The body of one of them was not found. The last wish of the parents was to have a last glimpse of the martyr son, but that too was not fulfilled and they passed away.

Now after 16 years, the wounds of the family have become fresh after the body was found. The jawan’s dress, name plate and body have also been found safe to a great extent. The family has also identified the body. The last rites will be performed after completion of formalities in two days. Jawan Amrish Tyagi was a resident of Hisali village in Ghaziabad. This village comes under police station Muradnagar.

Indian army team found dead body buried in snow
A team of 25 members of the Indian Army had left Uttarkashi on 12 September to conquer the Satopanth peak on the occasion of Golden Victory Year. This peak is in the middle of the Himalayan range. It is the second highest peak of Gangotri National Park. Its height is about 7075 meters. During the operation, the army team found the dead body of Amrish Tyagi buried in snow near a place named Harshil on 23 September. Army personnel took it to Gangotri and handed it over to the police.

When the police and the army gathered information, it came to know that Amrish was returning after hoisting the tricolor on this peak on 23 September 2005. Then 4 jawans fell into the ditch due to slipping of their feet. The bodies of three jawans were recovered at the same time, while one was missing. Exactly 16 years later, on 23 September 2021, his body was recovered.

A team of three soldiers from Army Headquarters New Delhi reached village Hisali on 25 September. Here is the ancestral house of Amrish Tyagi. Amrish’s brothers Vinesh and Ramkishore were found present at home. The jawans told them that Amrish Tyagi had gone missing 16 years ago while descending from the icy mountain, his body has now been found. According to the army jawans, the body of Amrish Tyagi buried in it was visible when the snow melted.

Amrish Tyagi has three brothers Ramkishore Tyagi, Vinesh Tyagi, Arvind Tyagi. Ramkishore and Vinesh Tyagi live in Hisali and take care of agriculture. Arvind Tyagi is working in Ordnance Factory Chandigarh.

In a phone conversation with Dainik Bhaskar, Vinesh Tyagi told that three soldiers who came to the house on Saturday morning from the Army Headquarters have informed about Amrish Tyagi. He has taken many papers signed. The body of Amrish can be brought to the village by 26 or 27 September. Vinesh Tyagi told that this accident happened in 2005. In 2006, the army had given financial assistance to Amrish’s wife while declaring her dead.

Parents’ last wish could not be fulfilled
Vinesh Tyagi told that at that time Amrish was on the post of PA of DGMI South Block Delhi. The accident happened on 23 September 2005. In those days, the army conducted a rescue-search operation for several days. The success was not achieved due to bad weather in Uttarakhand. His father Rajkumar passed away 10 years ago and mother Vidyavati passed away 4 years ago. The last wish of both was to see the son, which remained unfulfilled.
