‘Courtesy meeting’ with Mamta, still in BJP, Mukul demands dismissal from the post of MLA

Mukul Roy is still in BJP. Trinamool did not join Congress. Mukul’s lawyers made this demand in the hearing of the MLA’s dismissal case in the House of West Bengal Assembly Speaker Biman Bandyopadhyay on Wednesday. However, no verdict was delivered in view of the hearing held on Wednesday.

Last Monday, the Supreme Court had asked the Speaker to decide the matter of Mukul’s resignation within two weeks. Following that instruction, a hearing was held at the principal’s house on Wednesday afternoon. During the hearing, Mukul’s lawyers raised many issues. BJP lawyers were also present. According to assembly officials, Mukul’s lawyers claimed in the hearing that the Krishnanagar North MLA had not even joined the Trinamool Congress on June 11. The BJP symbol won from that seat. Besides, Mukhat had held a ‘courtesy meeting’ with Mamata and Abhishek Banerjee at the Trinamool headquarters on June 11 last year. He is still in BJP.

After the hearing, the Speaker of the Assembly said, ‘Today there was a long hearing. Mukul Roy’s lawyers have interrogated him. They want to raise legal issues a day later. The hearing is over. I don’t want to prolong this process. I will announce my decision as soon as possible as directed by the Supreme Court.

However, Leader of Opposition in West Bengal Assembly and BJP MLA Shuvendu Adhikari said he did not trust the Speaker’s decision. “We have faith in the Supreme Court. We do not have much faith in the hearing held in the assembly today. “It came to our notice then. Since his role as the Leader of the Opposition is ineffective, it seems that he is sinking into despair.

Meanwhile, the Trinamool leader does not want to comment on Mukul’s reasoning. He has practically shut his mouth. Especially with the ‘courtesy meeting’ held on June 11, ‘Speaky Not’ has taken a lead. Dum Dum Trinamool MP Saugat said, “I don’t know what Mukul’s lawyers said during the hearing. There was none of us. As far as I remember, he was in BJP when he filed his nomination papers for the post of Chairman of Public Accounts Committee (PSC).
