Madhya Pradesh: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal took a jibe at Prime Minister Narendra Modi, saying the country needs an “educated prime minister” while attacking the BJP over the arrest of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leaders Manish Sisodia and Satyendar Jain.

He said, “The day the Prime Minister sent Manish Sisodia to jail, I felt that it is absolutely necessary to have an educated Prime Minister in the country to understand the importance of education.”

Addressing a rally in Madhya Pradesh, where assembly elections are due by the end of the year, Kejriwal promised free electricity, education and health facilities if his party is voted to power.

Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann accompanied Kejriwal.

“People of Madhya Pradesh have given ample opportunities to both Congress and BJP who ruled the state for 45 and 30 years respectively.

Just give a chance to you and like Delhi and Punjab we will provide free electricity, education and health facilities to the people of the state.

Further slamming Prime Minister Kejriwal for asking people to bang plates during the pandemic, Kejriwal said, “If the Prime Minister is less educated, someone comes to him and advises him to keep people away from coronavirus.” Beat the plate to drive them away. He got people to do this, but did the coronavirus run away? That’s why it is necessary for the Prime Minister to be educated.”

Criticizing the Prime Minister over the arrest of Sisodia and Delhi Health Minister Satyendar Jain, Kejriwal said the two have transformed the education and health sectors in the national capital.

“The BJP’s philosophy is that if you are in the opposition, you should not do corruption, but if you do it after joining the BJP, then corruption is justified,” he said.

“Does a corrupt person build schools and hospitals? Corrupt destroys government schools and hospitals for the benefit of private players,” he said, referring to the work done by his arrested colleagues.

He said, ‘Now people have an alternative in the form of you. Just give you a chance once, if we do not work then I will not come again to ask for your votes.
