Congress leader Harish Rawat dares rivals to prove ‘ticket money’ charge

New Delhi: Former Uttarakhand Chief Minister Harish Rawat has strongly objected to the allegations of taking money for tickets and posts in the recently concluded assembly elections.

The veteran Congress chief ministerial candidate took to Twitter and challenged those leveling allegations against him to prove the charges. He also said that action should be taken against him if the allegations are found to be true.

Rawat wrote, “The allegation of selling posts and party tickets in exchange for money is very serious, and if this allegation is being leveled against a person who has held many posts including the Chief Minister, the party should expel him.” Needed.” His Twitter handle, reported news agency ANI.

“This is an allegation which is being leveled by someone holding a responsible position in the party. The allegation is being circulated by his supporters also. I pray to God that Congress party initiate action against me and expel me from the party. Give the party,” he further added.

Harish Rawat on Monday took responsibility for the defeat of the Congress at the hands of the Bharatiya Janata Party in the Uttarakhand assembly elections. He also apologized to the leaders and members of the working committee.

The Congress managed to win 19 seats in the election, while the BJP won 47 constituencies, securing 44.33 per cent vote share to retain power in Uttarakhand for the second time in a row.

In the 2017 elections, the BJP formed the government with an even bigger majority of 57 seats.
