Goa Forward Party (GFP) president Vijay Sardesai on Tuesday said that the Congress has agreed to an alliance with his party for the February 2022 state assembly elections. Talking to reporters here, Sardesai said that All India Congress Committee (AICC) Goa desk in-charge Dinesh Gundu Rao has told him that the Congress high command has approved the proposal for an alliance between the parties.
The alliance proposal has been formally approved. The GFP chief said that now we have to sit down and decide on the modalities of the alliance. The GFP currently has three MLAs in the state assembly, while the Congress is left with five after 12 MLAs joined the BJP.
