CJI Ramana expresses concern over judicial infrastructure in presence of Law Minister Kiren Rijiju

New Delhi: Chief Justice of India NV Ramana along with Union Law Minister Kiren Rijiju on Saturday met A. inauguratedNNXE Building of Aurangabad Bench of Bombay High Court.

During the inaugural ceremony, Chief Justice Raman raised various concerns regarding the judicial infrastructure in the country.

Chief Justice Ramana was quoted by ANI as saying, “Good judicial infrastructure for courts has always been a consideration. It is because of the mindset that courts in India operate from dilapidated structures, which makes it difficult to do judicial work.” ”

He further said, “Courts are very important for any society. People’s faith in the judiciary is the biggest strength of democracy. Courts assure the guarantee of the constitutional right to justice.”

He urged the Union Law Minister to expedite the proposal for setting up of National Judicial Infrastructure Authority to be taken up in the upcoming session of Parliament.

“I have sent a proposal to the Minister of Law and Justice for setting up a National Judicial Infrastructure Authority. I request the Minister to expedite the proposal in the upcoming session of Parliament,” the Chief Justice said.

On the other hand, Union Law Minister Kiren Rijiju asserted that the judiciary is not only being given full support but space is also being given to become stronger.

Union Law Minister Rijiju was quoted by ANI as saying, “Judiciary is not only being given full support, but they are being given space to become strong. For our democracy to be successful, a strong judiciary is of utmost importance. ”

During the ceremony, Rijiju announced that he would visit Jammu and Kashmir on October 29, 2021, to understand and see how legal aid is being provided to the people in the border areas.
