CISF: In Hybrid Security Model, CISF Has To Train Private Agencies: Amit Shah | India News – Times of India

New Delhi: Home Minister Amit Shah said on sunday Central Industrial Security Force ,CISFWork with private security agencies on a “hybrid arrangement” whereby paramilitary forces can create security infrastructure to protect private sector industries and establishments and train private personnel accordingly.
Addressing the 53rd Raising Day function of CISF in Ghaziabad, he suggested that once they are fully prepared by the CISF, then the private security personnel are given full charge.
While the role of private security agencies is increasing rapidly as the country moves from a $2.5 trillion economy to a $5 trillion economy, Shah said the CISF should take up the responsibility of training private security agencies.
He suggested that the force develop some training model, possibly based on the size of the workforce employed by production units or taking into account the need for certain selected areas. “Efficiency of private agencies has to be increased as CISF alone cannot ensure the security of the industrial sector of the entire country,” he said.
Shah said there is good scope for increasing the strength of women personnel in the areas of CISF’s responsibility like airport and metro security. CISF DG Sheel Vardhan Singh To increase the sex ratio in CISF from the current 94:6 (from 94 males to 6 females) to at least 80:20.
Stating that the country is entering the ‘Amrit Kaal’, or the period between 75th and 100 years of independence, Shah directed the CISF to recognize the challenges of the times to come. The CISF should have a 5-year action plan and a 25-year action plan to lay the groundwork to keep pace with the growing economy of the country. It should be ready this year,” he said.
Pointing to the danger of drones for the industrial sector, Shah said that the CISF should work closely with institutions like DRDO And B S fwho are working to develop anti-drone models and anti-drone technology.
He lauded the contribution of CISF in the rescue operations, recalling how the CISF personnel deployed at airports, despite being at risk of contracting COVID, had welcomed the passengers under Vande Bharat Abhiyan and now ‘Operation’. Were taking students from Ukraine under ‘Ganga’.
CISF has 1.64 lakh personnel.
