Ever since Charu Asopa and Sushmita Sen’s brother Rajiv Sen got married, they are in trouble in their paradise. After a few months of marriage, both of them started living separately and started accusing each other. However, they got back together and in July 2021, the couple welcomed their first child, a daughter and named her Ziana.
Trouble has started again and now, Charu Asopa and Rajeev Sen are headed for divorce. In an interview with The Times of India, Charu spoke at length about the issues between her and Rajiv and what went wrong between the two.
In a legal notice, Rajeev Sen claimed that Charu Asopa had not informed him about his first marriage. However, during the interview, Charu said, ‘He is claiming that he did not know about my first marriage! He not only knew about it, but also appreciated me for moving on from my past and making it on my own in Mumbai. My first marriage was in February 2007, when I was just 18 years old and we separated in November 2016 due to compatibility issues.
Rajeev also claimed that Charu is a “bad mother” as she posts pictures and videos of Ziyana on social media. Responding to the allegations, Charu said, “Rajeev has accused me of being a bad mother because he doesn’t appreciate me posting Ziyana’s pictures on social media. He says take a look. I am not superstitious like her and I do not want my daughter to come in contact with such mentality.”
Charu Asopa concluded and said, “I didn’t want to talk about the problems I faced in my marriage, but I am forced to talk about it now because Rajeev is spreading lies about me, which It is harmful to my reputation. Yes, we have taken the legal route to annul the marriage and I have initiated the process.”
Rajeev Sen also spoke about the issues and told TOI, “Lack of trust and communication, ego struggles, fights like kids and more. Practically no one knew about his first marriage except the people of his hometown, Bikaner (Rajasthan). It was a secret that was hidden from us. So, it came as a shock to me, and it shocked me badly… Three years of marriage and I had no idea. I understand it was his past, but he should have at least told me. I would have accepted it with respect if she had told me about it before marriage.”
Now, Charu Asopa is looking for work as she wants her daughter to have a normal childhood.
