Akon will be joining the grand pre-wedding festivities of Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant in Jamnagar, Gujarat.
Akon shares a special connection with India. The global icon recorded the iconic Ra.One song ‘Chammak Challo’ on the country’s soil over a decade ago and once again he is back but this time to attend the lavish pre-wedding festivities of Mukesh Ambani’s son Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant. Akon was papped outside Jamnagar airport on Sunday, hinting that Day 3 of the bash would be nothing short of stellar.
Popular paparazzo handle Viral Bhayani shared a video on their Instagram handle, which showed Akon being swarmed by a sea of fans, as he was being escorted to his vehicle. The singer wore a white t-shirt and had a red scarf wrapped around his neck. He even obliged some fans with a selfie before exiting the scene. The clip soon went viral all over social media.

Akon, whose full name is Aliaune Damala Badara Akon Thiam, is a Senegalese-American singer, songwriter, record producer, entrepreneur, philanthropist, and actor. He rose to fame in 2004 following the release of his single ‘Locked Up’ from his debut album ‘Trouble.’ His music often blends R&B, hip hop, and pop, and he is known for his smooth vocals and use of the auto-tune effect.
He gained even more prominence with his second album, ‘Konvicted’ in 2006, which produced several hits including ‘Smack That’ featuring Eminem, and ‘I Wanna Love You’ featuring Snoop Dogg. Akon continued to build on his success with his third album, ‘Freedom’ in 2008, which included hits like ‘Right Now (Na Na)’ and ‘Beautiful’ featuring Kardinal Offishall and Colby O’Donis.
Meanwhile, Anant Ambani, 28, the youngest son of chairman and managing director of Reliance Industries Limited Mukesh Ambani, one of the world’s richest men, and his wife Nita Ambani, is set to wed Radhika Merchant, 29, the daughter of industrialist Viren Merchant and his wife Shaila Merchant. While the wedding will be held later this year, a three-day pre-wedding bash is being organised in Gujarat’s Jamnagar city from March 1 to 3.
Among the distinguished guests that have descended on Jamnagar for Anant Ambani-Radhika Merchant’s pre-wedding bash, several Bollywood celebrities names including Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, Aamir Khan, Arjun Kapoor, Anil Kapoor, Tiger Shroff, and Aditya Roy Kapur were spotted attending the grand and special occasion.
