CBSE Board Result 2022: Students demand #CBSEacceptBestOfEitherTerm

CBSE Board Result 2022: Ahead of the declaration of CBSE Class 10th and Class 12th Board Results 2022, students on Twitter are demanding CBSE to accept the best result of any period as the final result calculation method by trending #CBSEacceptBestOfEitherTerms on Twitter . For the first time in the history of CBSE, class 10 and class 12 have been divided into two terms. The syllabus was divided into two parts. The first part of the syllabus was asked in Term 1 and the second half in Term 2. Term 1 exam was MCQ-based and Term 2 was subjective. Since last year the board had to declare the result without the exam, the board decided to schedule an exam before the normal exam session.

As per the official communication by CBSE, the results will include Term 1, and Term 2 marks as well as performance of students in internals and practicals. However, the board did not specify which term would get how much weightage. CBSE also informed that students who have missed one of the two term due to a valid reason will also get their result.

What is the best in any period?

The students also demand that CBSE either give highest weightage to internal assessment which will rank the students on the basis of their performance throughout the year. The students have also suggested that internal assessment should be given maximum weightage of up to 50 per cent and the remaining 50 per cent should be divided into term 1 and term 2. The students also claim that in order to reduce the outbreak of the pandemic, students can do the same. Scoring can be done based on the best of any period. This means that a general formula can be used where each student can score either Term 1 or Term 2 based on their performance. This will also ensure that students who have omitted one of the two words will also receive the same evaluation system.

However, CBSE has not clarified the weightage of Term 1 and 2 examinations. CBSE will not declare the Term 2 marks separately, and will release the cumulative mark sheets of Term 1 and 2 examinations separately.
