CBI takes up solar case, Congress alleges political conspiracy

Is. in many criminal cases. Terming the Saur case as the biggest political discovery in Kerala’s history, Sudhakaran alleged that a “politically motivated investigation” into the matter was the result of a nexus between Vijayan and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The Kannur MP claimed that there was no evidence against the party leaders in the case and that three separate teams of police, probing the matter, had dropped it. Chandy, in his response, said he was not scared of a CBI probe into the matter.

Chandy said the Left government that probed the case during the last five-year rule did not take any action against him, adding that he had moved the court for bail even after registering a case against him under non-bailable provisions. did not do. Speaking to reporters in Malappuram, Venugopal said he and other party leaders named in the case have no fear as no crime has been committed.

“It is part of a political conspiracy,” he alleged. The AICC general secretary said the matter was handed over to the CBI just before the state assembly elections in April this year. He said the state police investigated the case for five years, but could not find a single evidence against him.

Six persons, including Chandy, were booked over the years and probed by the Crime Branch of Kerala Police on the basis of a complaint by a woman accused in the multi-crore solar panel scam during the UDF government. She was sexually abused in 2012. The CPI(M)-led Kerala government had earlier this year recommended a CBI probe into the cases.

The Congress then termed the move as “politically motivated”, saying the CPI(M)-led government found nothing against the party leaders and took the decision as elections were near.
