Accused Pranab Barkait, Pritam Roy Sarkar, Ratan Roy Sarkar, Liton Shil, Liton Bhaumik, Nakul Roy Sarkar and Biswajit Barman have been arrested from Cooch Behar, Jaipur and Kolkata after sustained surveillance, they stated.
On the premise of inputs confirming the presence of the accused, the CBI carried out coordinated searches at eight areas within the three districts the place all of them have been nabbed, the officers stated.
The CBI had taken over the case on August 19, 2021 on Calcutta Excessive Courtroom orders.
It was alleged that round 2pm on Might 4, 2021, Sridhar Das was mercilessly crushed with stick, ‘battam’ and iron rods by unknown folks, the company stated in a press release.
When the sufferer’s spouse tried to rescue him, the accused attacked her as effectively, it added.
“After the incident, Sridhar Das was admitted in Dinhata Hospital, and later, in different hospitals/nursing houses in Cooch Behar and died throughout remedy on June 21, 2021,” the company stated.
