On Tuesday, Bragg announced an indictment of Trump for falsifying New York business records to hide damaging information

Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg vowed Tuesday that he would not allow the former president to get away with a hush money charge.

“These are felony crimes in the state of New York. No matter who you are, we cannot and will not normalize serious criminal conduct,” he said after Trump’s insult.

“We take up our solemn responsibility today to ensure that everyone is equal before the law,” Bragg said.

On Tuesday, Bragg announced an indictment of Trump for falsifying New York business records to hide harmful information and illegal activity from American voters before and after the 2016 election.

During the election, Trump and others used a “catch and kill” scheme to identify, buy and bury negative information about him and boost his electoral prospects.

According to the indictment, Trump went to great lengths to conceal this conduct, making dozens of false entries in business records to conceal criminal activity, including attempts to violate state and federal election laws.

Despite all the charges, Donald Trump pleaded not guilty to 34 felony counts in a dramatic hearing inside a packed New York courtroom on Tuesday.

The former US president denies all allegations, including an alleged affair with an adult film actress, relating to payments to keep people quiet.

He was released from custody without any restrictions.
