A provision of Rs 10 crore was made under the budget head GIA (SAP). The amount proposed for this year was Rs 2,250 crore.
Postgraduate Medical Institute Education Research (PGI) in Chandigarh was allocated Rs 1,923.10 crore in the 2023 Union Budget, an increase of Rs 73.10 crore over last year’s revised budget estimates.
The highest allocation was made for creation of capital assets with Rs 343.10 crore. Last year, Rs 270 crore was provided under this head. The grants-in-aid and budget estimates for salaries under grants-in-aid (general), which remain the same as last year, are Rs 1,300 crore and Rs 270 crore, respectively.

Kumar Abhay, Financial Advisor, PGI said, “This is the initial allocation and as per our past experience we always get the required funds under the supplementary grant depending on the expenditure pattern during the year and new developments like new recruitments and projects etc.”
