Akshay Kumar opened up about his wife Twinkle Khanna and how she critiques his fashion.
It seems like Akshay Kumar has shared an interesting and relatable insight about his household dynamics, especially with his wife Twinkle Khanna’s role in his fashion choices. He mentioned in an interaction with HT City that Twinkle enjoys critiquing his appearance, and while she’s generally supportive of his everyday casual look, she prefers him to dress up a bit more formally when they attend events together.
Akshay humorously pointed out that this is probably a common duty shared by many wives when it comes to their husbands’ wardrobes, highlighting the light-hearted yet important influence partners have on each other’s style, “Of course! I feel it’s all wives’ duty to critique their husbands’ wardrobe choices; it’s what makes them happy. Yes, she most definitely has a say when we’re dressing for an event together. On my own, she doesn’t mind what I look like, but for when we’re together, she’d rather I didn’t wear my trusty track pants and training T-shirts. I can’t blame her, though,” he stated.
The actor recently praised his wife Twinkle Khanna and sharex stories about their time in London. He mentioned the difference between his hardworking nature and Twinkle’s intelligence, crediting her for their daughter’s smarts. Akshay is married to Twinkle Khanna, daughter of Rajesh Khanna, and they have two kids, Aarav and Nitara.
On Jio Cinema’s Dhawan Karenge, Akshay told cricketer Shikhar Dhawan during a conversation, “My daughter gets her intelligence from my wife, Twinkle. Main to anpadh aadmi hu, zyada padha nahi hu. Main gadha mazdoori karta hu, wo dimaag wali hai.”
He continued, “I am lucky to marry superstar Rajesh Khanna’s daughter but I am lucky that she is a lovely wife and a lovely mother. If you get the right partner in life, then your life is perfect. I go to work and she has taken such good care of my children. I am surprised about how my wife looks at life even today. She is 50 now and still goes to study. She has finished her masters and is now doing her PhD.”
About Twinkle, he further said that he’s lucky to have married Rajesh Khanna’s daughter, but even luckier that she’s a wonderful wife and mother. “I’m fortunate to have married superstar Rajesh Khanna’s daughter, but even more so because she is a wonderful wife and mother. Having the right partner makes life perfect. While I go to work, she takes excellent care of our children. I’m amazed by her outlook on life even today. At 50, she continues to study, having completed her master’s and now pursuing her PhD.”
The actor described their life in London, joking about his own education. He said, “There will be few people like me. When I go to London, I drop my daughter to school, drop my son at the university and finally drop my wife at the university. And then, like an ‘anpadh’ , return home and watch cricket all day.”
Akshay said he wants to return to college but can’t because books overwhelm him. Shikhar joked that while Twinkle reads a lot, Akshay doesn’t read at all. Akshay explained he’s always been more into sports than studying as a kid, and his parents encouraged that. He said, “My parents understood I was zero in studies and they pushed me towards sports.”
Meanwhile, Akshay Kumar and Arshad Warsi are going to share the screen in the third installment of Jolly LLB. The shooting took place in Rajasthan, and they have completed the first schedule.
