BREAKING: Indian Women’s Cricket Team For 2023 Asian Games T20 Cricket Competition Announced

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has unveiled the much-awaited squad for the women’s cricket competition of the 19th Asian Games to be held from September 19 to 28, 2023. The Indian women’s team will be led by Harmanpreet Kaur. Be in the running for glory in the T20 format of the tournament.

The squad comprises of a balanced mix of experienced players and promising young talent, which ensures to pose a tough challenge to their opponents. Vice-captain Smriti Mandhana will provide valuable support to Kaur while building a strong leadership core. The opening pair of Shafali Verma and Jemimah Rodrigues are expected to storm the stage with their aggressive strokeplay and solid technique.

The middle order will be strengthened by Deepti Sharma and Richa Ghosh, who will also don the wicketkeeping gloves. His inclusion brings depth and versatility to the batting lineup, capable of building and accelerating innings as and when required. Amanjot Kaur, Devika Vaidya, Anjali Sarwani, Titas Sadhu, Rajeshwari Gaikwad, Minnu Mani, Kanika Ahuja, Uma Chhetri and Anusha Baredy complete the team, providing a range of skills across all departments.

The BCCI has also announced a standby list of players who will be ready to step in if the need arises. Harleen Deol, Kashvi Gautam, Sneh Rana, Saika Ishaq and Pooja Vastrakar have been named as reserves, highlighting the depth and talent present in Indian women’s cricket.
